Effective date: 26 September 2026
1. The service and operator
Tennis Social helps people find tennis partners, organize play, connect with coaches, and communicate. It is an iPhone service intended initially for Taiwan. CourtGather is its website brand. These rules apply to use of Tennis Social.
Individual operator: Carey Fang
Contact: courtgather.support@gmail.com
2F., No. 10, Lane 210, Wende Road, Neihu District, Taipei City, Taiwan
The iPhone app’s software license uses Apple’s standard EULA unless a different applicable license is shown in the App Store. These service and community rules address participation in Tennis Social.
2. Accounts, age, and family profiles
Use accurate account information and only operate profiles you are authorized to manage. Players have no minimum age: under-13 profiles are managed by an adult guardian, from age 13 a player may use their own supported login with linked guardian consent or remain guardian-managed until adulthood, and adults use independent accounts. Coaching requires an explicit opt-in, age 18+, and the required active subscription.
Ratings, experience, and qualifications are self-reported unless a specific field explicitly identifies another source. Birth-date corrections require support.
3. Bookings and group lessons
A request does not reserve a space. Hosts or coaches approve participation; check the confirmed details before attending. The session’s court, time, format, price, and court-fee arrangement are the agreed terms. Group enrollment is provisional until the minimum student count is reached at one court. A group still below its minimum eight hours before the start is automatically cancelled without cancellation-review penalties.
When a coach offers alternative courts for a time, the chosen booking location controls which alternatives remain available. Do not assume separate listings at the same time represent separate coaches or guaranteed spaces.
4. Court access and direct payments
An in-app booking does not reserve a physical court. Organizers state whether access is reserved or first-come-first-served. For a newly listed reserved court, organizers must state the total court fee and whether the host pays or participants share it. Confirm the actual per-person arrangement, including off-app guests, directly with the organizer.
Lesson and court payments are arranged directly between the relevant people. They are separate from Apple’s coach subscription. Disclose tuition honestly; do not disguise paid coaching as a player event or court-access fee.
Payments, refunds, and disputes: Lesson and court fees are paid directly between people. CourtGather does not collect, hold or refund them. Before anyone pays, the organizer or coach must agree with participants on the price, each person's share, who receives the money and when, and what happens if the session can't go ahead, for example because of rain, an unavailable court or too few students. If the organizer or coach cancels, or a group lesson is cancelled because it didn't reach its minimum, any money paid in advance for that session must be refunded in full within 7 days. Not doing so breaks these rules and can lead to moderation action, including suspension. For other refund questions, contact the person you paid first. We can review misconduct reports and help clarify what the booking records show, but we can't reverse a payment. The 4-hour cancellation rule affects reviews only, not refunds. Apple handles coach-subscription billing and refunds. These rules don't limit your rights under consumer-protection law.
5. The 4-hour cancellation rule
Cancellation is recorded using server time and the latest mutually confirmed start time. Exactly 4 hours before the start qualifies for free cancellation under this reputation policy. There are no automatic monetary cancellation charges.
- At least 4 hours before: no required reason and no new cancellation-based review eligibility.
- Less than 4 hours before, or during the session before its end: provide a reason privately to affected parties. Each eligible affected account holder can accept it or explicitly leave a thumbs-down review. A response is optional: silence neither accepts the reason nor creates a review.
- Unaccepted requests: withdrawing a pending request carries no cancellation penalty.
- Immediate effect: cancellation releases the relevant place or lesson slot and ends pending change proposals. Replacement players do not inherit review rights for the earlier incident.
Host cancellation or removal of an accepted player is organizer-initiated cancellation. In a group withdrawal, the host and remaining confirmed participants can respond independently. Accepting a reason waives that person’s review eligibility for that incident; it does not erase existing reviews or other people’s decisions. Guardian-initiated cancellation feedback is attached to the responsible guardian’s profile, not the child’s. Self-reviews and reviews between linked family profiles are excluded. Historical cancellation incidents retain the cutoff and response rights recorded when they occurred.
6. Changes and attendance
Changes to confirmed terms require everyone’s agreement. Original terms remain valid while a change is pending, including the cancellation cutoff. A decline is not itself a cancellation. A proposal can expire and discovery may pause while participants consider it.
Hosts/coaches can mark confirmed participants, including themselves, present or no-show from the session start until two hours after its end. At that deadline, undecided confirmed participants are treated as present by scheduled processing; explicit no-shows and staff decisions remain. Cancelled, withdrawn or removed places are excluded. Feedback becomes available only after the session ends and the required attendance is recorded, even when the session was not full. If attendance is wrong, use the attendance-dispute action or Contact support. There is no automatic negative review for a no-show, and earned feedback cannot be revoked by an organizer’s later attendance downgrade.
7. Coach subscription
An active monthly Apple subscription is required to first enable coaching and to publish offers, receive new enrollment requests, and approve new students. Students do not need this subscription. The price and renewal terms shown in Apple’s purchase confirmation apply. The subscription renews automatically unless cancelled through Apple.
Turning off renewal does not end the already-paid period. Apple-authorized billing grace is honored; billing retry without that grace does not retain paid access. When entitlement expires or is revoked, public coaching promotion and new enrollment stop; confirmed lessons remain manageable and are not automatically cancelled. Without renewed entitlement, everyone must agree to any reschedule of a confirmed lesson. The new start can be no later than seven days after the date protected at confirmation with an active subscription, with no increase in duration. Support may authorize a specific exception.
Use Manage subscription or Restore purchases in My Coaching. Deleting Tennis Social or its account does not cancel Apple renewal. Apple handles subscription billing and refund requests; lesson and court payments follow their separate arrangements.

8. Community rules and messaging
We have zero tolerance for objectionable content and abusive users. We can remove content and suspend accounts that break these rules.
- Treat others respectfully. No harassment, hate, threats, sexual content or exploitation, impersonation, scams, spam, or sharing another person’s private information without permission.
- Share only content you have the right to use, with appropriate consent from people shown in photos or videos. Do not post unsafe or unlawful content.
- Before friendship is accepted, each sender–recipient profile pair has a lifetime allowance of three introductory text messages. Photos and videos require accepted friendship. Replies or bookings do not bypass the allowance; removing friends or blocking/unblocking does not reset it.
- New chat photos are compressed to JPEG, at most 2,048 pixels on the longest edge and 10 MB. New videos target 720p, at most 60 seconds and 25 MB. The prepared-upload allowance is 200 MB per account per Taiwan calendar day, shared by managed profiles and including thumbnails. Failed or abandoned preparations do not refund that allowance; a retry of the same upload does not charge it again. Additional rate limits and a temporary safety/cost pause may apply.
- Respect court rules, agreed access, and other players. Arrange supervision and suitability for children with the people responsible for the session.
9. Reviews, moderation, and appeals
Ordinary reviews require a completed session with the relevant attendance confirmed. Late cancellation provides a separate eligibility route. Reviews are limited to one per author–recipient pair, with a thumb and optional comment up to 500 characters. Authors can edit or delete their review; self-reviews and manufactured eligibility are not allowed.
Guardian-submitted playing feedback belongs to the participating child’s profile. Cancellation feedback resolves to the responsible adult account holder when the adult acts for a child. Blocking does not erase earned reviews. Report content or attendance errors through the app. Authorized moderators can correct attendance, remove content, suspend accounts, and resolve disputes with recorded actions.
Review and appeal process: CourtGather is operated by Carey Fang. Reports and pending profile photos are reviewed during Monday–Friday, 09:00–18:00 (UTC+08:00). Reports may be submitted in the app at any time; safety concerns receive priority when reviewed. This is not a continuously monitored emergency service. Use Profile → Contact support for a private case, replies and progress, or email us if you cannot sign in. Use the report action on the relevant content for safety concerns. We aim to acknowledge support cases and appeal emails within 2 business days. To appeal, reply in your support case or email courtgather.support@gmail.com with your profile identifier, the affected content or session, any decision received, why you believe it is mistaken, and relevant information. Carey Fang will review the original decision and new information; there is no separate independent appeal team. We aim to provide a decision or progress update within 7 business days after receiving the necessary details. These targets do not replace applicable legal deadlines. Only relevant information is inspected. Moderation actions and reasons are recorded through the app’s audited tools. If a restriction affects confirmed sessions, those commitments are assessed separately. Some deleted text and media cannot be restored.
10. Community skill ratings
After a completed playing session with the required attendance, each eligible participant may assess each other participant once for that session. Coaching lessons and cancellations do not create skill-rating eligibility. The app offers forehand, backhand, volleys, serves, mobility and endurance, with scores 1–10 or Unknown. Self/family assessments are excluded; a guardian acts for the participating child.
Each category uses an ongoing average of eligible numeric assessments. Unknown adds neither a score nor a count; display rounds to one decimal. Existing numeric-zero assessments remain valid. Repeated sessions can contribute again, without automatic expiry or decay. These are community impressions, separate from NTRP/UTR and not a certified ranking or coach credential. The chart connects available rated points, fills a shape when at least three categories are rated, and lists unrated categories separately.
Review the summary before submitting: authors cannot edit or delete a submitted skill assessment themselves. Report concerns from the player profile; staff can investigate and correct or remove contributions with an audit record. Corrections, invalid attendance and applicable account deletion can change averages. A minimal content-free submission receipt may remain to prevent duplicate assessments.
11. Safety, suspension, and liability
Tennis is a physical activity. Play within your ability, check the court and conditions, and use your own judgment about who you meet and play with. We do not screen players or coaches, check their qualifications, or supervise sessions. Tennis Social is not an emergency service: if someone is in immediate danger, call 110 (police) or 119. If you are worried about a child’s safety, you can also call the 113 protection hotline.
We can remove content, limit features, and suspend or close accounts that break these terms or put others at risk. You can appeal as described in section 9.
As far as the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, for the conduct of other users, coaches, or court operators, or for payments arranged outside the app. Nothing in these terms limits liability that the law does not allow to be limited, including for intentional misconduct or gross negligence.
12. Privacy, disputes, and updates
Our privacy policy explains information use and your choices. You can initiate account deletion in Profile → Delete account.
Governing law and disputes: These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of China (Taiwan). If a dispute arises, please contact support first so we can try to resolve it. If it isn't resolved, the Taiwan Taipei District Court is the court of first instance, unless consumer-protection law allows you to bring the case in another court. Contacting support doesn't prevent you from going to a consumer-protection authority or a court.
Nothing in these terms is intended to remove rights that cannot legally be excluded. Material service-rule changes will be communicated through appropriate service channels, with the effective date kept current. If you keep using Tennis Social after updated terms take effect, the updated terms apply; if you don’t agree, you can stop using the service and delete your account.
